VISION

Deccan Gymkhana aimed to transform its legacy gym into a contemporary wellness environment aligned with current standards of fitness, comfort and accessibility. The intent was to create a motivating training space that balances technical precision with visual calm.

PROCESS

The 8,200 sq ft facility was reorganized into clear muscle-group zones for efficient movement. The old grid ceiling was removed and replaced with a darker overhead plane to visually expand the volume while concealing services.

A continuous lighting band defines circulation and rhythm, softening the industrial character. Durable finishes and a low-energy evaporative cooling system improve maintenance and reduce operational load.

OUTCOMES

The gym now functions as a future-ready wellness destination. Improved zoning, lighting and environmental performance enhance user comfort and motivation, demonstrating how thoughtful design can modernize existing infrastructure without excess.
