VISION

The Saameeripura Community aspires to create a self-sustaining, multi-generational ecosystem for neglected children and senior citizens.

The founders have acquired approximately 215 acres of land in North Karnataka, to develop this community, which is expected to eventually accommodate up to 1,000 individuals.

With a view to instilling values of harmonious co-existence with nature, culture and future, the community focuses on eco-sensitive practices for farming, animal husbandry and living.

DESIGN

The Community Centre will serve as the core of the community. This will be supported by essential amenities such as a central kitchen, dining hall, and administrative offices.

The design of the first buildings draws inspiration from local architectural styles, incorporating thick stone walls, lime plaster, and timber. A distinctive feature of the local homes, the Jaguli, which resembles a veranda space, is incorporated into the residential block.

The layout of this cluster blends indoor spaces with semi-open verandas, corridors, balconies, and open courtyards, creating a harmonious balance that forms the heart of the design.

The architecture seeks to blur the boundaries between inside and outside. In this way, the building’s bulk vanishes into the landscape.
