VISION
Drawing from the settlements & landscape of Kutch and Rajasthan, the restaurant reimagines North-Indian dining for a modern urban audience. The ambition was to create an intimate, familial atmosphere within a public setting, i.e., evoking cultural memory without imitation.
PROCESS
The interior abstracts the desert landscape through materials and light rather than motifs. Textured walls, micro topping flooring, and reused furniture introduce warmth and authenticity. Antique doors, sculptures and custom lighting balance tradition with contemporary restraint. The existing ceiling and HVAC systems were retained and integrated into the scheme, reducing cost and waste while maintaining visual clarity.
The clustered seating layout accommodates 78 seats into neighbourhood-like pockets, offering privacy and connection.
OUTCOMES
The result is a calm, grounded restaurant that bridges nostalgia and modernity without themed excess. It is a refined expression of regional inspiration adapted to an urban context.
